A fascinating dvd by Frederique Cifuentes documents the extensive rennovations that took place between November 2008 and May 2010 at Leighton House - the former home of Victorian art collector, Lord Leighton (1830 - 1896).

During the museum's closure Frederique filmed, photographed and recorded the progress of the project; museum staff and the many specialists, makers and crafts professionals (including OES) whose expertise was called upon.

Our role during the refurbishment, only the second in the 109 year history of the museum, was to pack, remove and store Leighton's own collection of drawings and paintings as well as those of his contemporaries. We are happy to report that his 'palace for art' including his priceless collection of over a thousand Islamic tiles, is now re-instated on the edge of Holland Park in Kensington, London.
